Our expertise in textile sustainability and life cycle assessment (LCA)
Our team has carried out numerous LCAs on a wide range of textile products, including footwear, household linen, clothing, and textile components used in furniture. These studies help manufacturers, retailers and public authorities better understand environmental hotspots and identify opportunities to reduce impacts across the full life cycle.
In recent years, we have also provided technical support to ADEME in the development and continuous improvement of the Base Empreinte® LCA database. Our contribution includes data-entry work, methodological support, and the development of the footwear tool.
RDC Environment facilitated the mirror working group, commissioned by ADEME, for the PEFCR Apparel and footwear, with the aim of supporting stakeholders in the French textile sector in understanding the PEFCR Apparel and footwear. In addition, RDC Environment assisted many textile companies in gaining familiarity with the PEFCR methodology

Studies for Public Authorities
We support public authorities in developing evidence-based policies to enhance the sustainability of textile products. Our work combines economic, environmental, and policy analyses to inform decision-making across a range of textile-related topics. This includes assessing policy measures to reduce microplastic emissions, exploring the integration of textile components into extended producer responsibility schemes, evaluating options for implementing textile EPR mechanisms, developing eco-modulation criteria to encourage environmentally responsible product design, and supporting assessments of sorting and recovery performance to improve EPR governance and effectiveness.
